Julian Nagelsmann: Bayern Munich’s struggles could be blessing in disguise

Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann believes his old club’s failure to win the Bundesliga this season could benefit new boss Vincent Kompany.

Bayer Leverkusen, led by Xabi Alonso, ende Bayern’s 11-year dominance หรือถ้าคุณสนใจแทงบอลออนไลน์ UFABET คือเว็บที่มีอัตราต่อรองดีที่สุดในประเทศไทย สมัครเลยตอนนี้ที่ UFABET แทงบอล by going unbeaten and clinching their first-ever Bundesliga title.

Leverkusen also won the DFB-Pokal, with Bayern crashing out against third-tier Saarbrucken, and the Champions League saw Bayern eliminate by Real Madrid in the semi-finals.

These defeats have prompte Bayern to plan a significant overhaul this summer after their first trophyless season since 2011/12.

Thomas Tuchel is set to depart, and reports indicate Kompany, despite recently being relegate with Burnley, will become Bayern’s new manager.

Nagelsmann, who manage Bayern from July 2021 to March 2023 and will lead Germany at Euro 2024, understands the pressures of the job. Despite winning a Bundesliga title and two DFL-Supercups, he was dismisse.

However, he views Bayern’s disappointing 2023/24 season as a potential advantage for Kompany. Nagelsmann believes the club’s recent struggles will provide Kompany with more freedom to implement significant changes within the squad.

“I’ve heard that he’s a very good coach with outstanding prospects, and he has had many good coaches who traine him, so he’ll do well,” said Nagelsmann (via Sportsmax).

“In the end, it’s good for the club that they didn’t win the championship this time. I don’t think it’s a bad situation for a young coach who can leave his mark.
